Located on the campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, this project provided much needed Kitchen, Dining, Commons, and Classroom spaces to the existing Early College. With a tight budget and array of technical challenges in an aging facility, this project was an opportunity to engage a diverse group of stakeholders in order to strike a balance between efficient operations, budget conscious design, and creating a sense of place. By cultivating an environment of creative teamwork and technical problem solving, the team was able to deliver a great space in time for the 2025 fall semester that will expand the Early College’s ability to serve high school students in Buncombe County.
